Now I don't know how you feel about this matter, but I think it's ridiculous. For one, Trijicon has been manufacturing this sights for several years and no one has cared; until the liberal media found out and now all the sudden it's an outrage.
Secondly I am only guessing here but I highly doubt that any terrorist that somehow gets his hands on one of these is going to be able to put two and two together and realize that the random letters and numbers are actually a verse from the bible that they don't read about a God that they don't belive in. So how can you be offended by something you don't belive in?
Personally I think it's awesome that Trijicon has been producing these sights. I hope they continue this practice for many more years. However since the sights are being used on military weapons it is going to be just another way the government is going to try to step in and take away our freedoms.
Maybe I'm overreacting a little but it's my opinion and I say, Jesus rifles? Really? Give me a break.
I have once again been getting hasseled about not posting anything, which can be hard to do if your working 12 hour days 7 days a week, however in order to get all the harassment to stop here we go.
I received a package in the mail the other day from the Allendale Rotary Club. It was filled with Christmas cards from the Allendale Elementary School. They ranged from kindergarten to 3rd graders. Here are a few of the ones that stood out from the rest.
"Ho, ho ho, have a happy new year" with fun pop outs.
This one says "Dear soldier, thank you for fighting, merry Christmas"
"Happy Christmas, 3rd grader, Dear soldier, I thank you for freedom. So I'll give you this gift." If can't make that out taped beneath it is a paper snowflake cutout.
I received about 30 cards total and they all said pretty much the same thing, however there was 1 that went about saying it a little different.
"Merry Christmas, Ho,ho"
"Have a great Christmas! If you die, we will remember you. Take care."
Um, Thank you, I guess. . .
I do really appreciate these cards. It is always fun to read them and see what the kids come up with. Thank you so much to the elementary kids who made these and the Allendale Rotarians.
So as previously mentioned we spent 2 weeks at Forward Operating Base Miami. This was where the "war games" started up, although I didn't really participate in that side of things too much. The only thing we ha to worry about was making it to a hardened shelter or some sort of bunker for protection if we received simulated indirect fire.
Other then that we did normal aircraft maintenance. My squad worked from 12pm -12 am and another squad worked the other 12 hours.

This is a OH-58 Kiowa. Officers that are stationed at Fort Irwin to train us would fly these and grade our pilots on how well they performed. The Kiowa is also used as a scout aircraft.
We also had 6 UH-60 Blackhawks with us. They were a detachment out of Fort Rucker, AL.
The last picture was actually taken during sunset during a dust storm. I thought it was pretty crazy how it turned out.
I love the color of the sky in this picture and the way the moon looks.
Our commander was extremely happy with the way our unit performed while at NTC. We flew close to 1,000 hours of flight time, which is a record for any unit in the past 3 years.
Also, for those of you that have not heard already, I will be home for Christmas this year from the 21st of Dec to the 4th of Jan.
Many of you know that I was recently on a field trip to California with my battalion. We were at the National Training Center located at Fort Irwin from the 1st to the 27th of October. NTC is supposed to replicate being in Iraq to help prepare units for deployment to Iraq.
The first week we were there was spent at the staging area known as "Aruba". We spent this time getting all of our equipment, trucks and aircraft ready to go out to the "box".
These are some pictures from Aruba. It was pretty windy almost the whole time we were there which made for some fun dust storms to work in.
The next place we were at is known as Forward Operating Base(FOB) Miami. We spent 2 weeks there, doing normal aircraft maintenance and some other training missions.
This was part of our convoy out to FOB Miami. This was also a dusty trip because the Humvee I rode in had no doors or top.
