Happy New Year!!!!

It is officially 2009 for me so I am going to wish you all a happy new year. It's another four day weekend for me so we are going to head out into Korea and see what fun things we can find to do. Hopefully on Monday I will have some pictures or some sort of good story to tell because lately there has been nothing exciting happening. Have a great year!

Christmas

I hope everyone had a great Christmas. Mine wasn't too bad although it just didn't feel like it for me. On Christmas eve everybody was ordered to put a boot outside their door so that they could be stuffed with presents from the command team.

If you look close you can see all the boots outside the doors.

On Christmas day I was able to hook up my webcam and see my family. That was probably the best part of the week. The rest of the weekend went by pretty fast. We went out and wondered but didn't really see or do anything worth posting about. I have another three days of work coming up and then it is another 4 day weekend to celebrate new years. I can't believe it's already 2009. What happened to 2008?

What a Man

I saw this on another blog this morning and thought it was so cool. I am very sad to see President Bush leaving office because I know the new president won't give the time of day for this type of thing.

Blizzard '08

There have been many other blogs I have seen lately talking about how much snow you have and how terrible it is to drive in. Well people I am here today to say that it could look like this where you live . . .

I know you are all thinking, "oh my goodness, that is a ton of snow, how ever are they surviving?" I know I woke up this morning and thought that this was it, the end of the world was upon us.

Then I realized it's only snow and soon, like around noon, it would mostly all melt and be gone. So I just want you all to know that you could have all the snow(or lack there of) that we have over here. But I don't think you could handle it.

Christmas Tour of the Base

First let me apologize about not posting recently. Life is boring over here and since I don't really want to bore you with tales of "today I went out to the helicopter and had this problem so I repaired this wire and then replaced this . . ." I tend to slack off.

I saw this on my moms blog and thought instead of giving you a tour of my lack of Christmas cheer room I could give a short tour of the post.

Let me begin by showing a picture of the incredible amounts of snow we have this year. It is nearly toe deep! I had to lock myself up in the room because we got snowed in.

I guess Santa got smart and traded in Rudolph for a new helicopter. I guess he wants us armament dawgs to load some rockets onto it because he landed on the hanger right above our shop.

The Armament Five

I saw this on my aunts blog and decided to try it out. I didn't plan on posting them, but after everyone I showed them it laughed at it I decided to share it with the rest of you.

In case you are wondering who the people are in this video from left to right we have myself, Spc. Wilson(one of my friends), Cpl. Cross(my squad leader, also was in my class at AIT), Pfc. Mackin(my room mate), and Sgt. Ly(in my opinion the coolest NCO ever).

The Move

I know many of you already know the news about my unit leaving Korea. In case you don't here is a quick explanation.

We were told that our unit would be re-stationing from South Korea to Fort Carson, CO which is just outside of Colorado Springs. The first wave of people would be leaving by the end of December with the rest following behind in mid to end January. I was going to be leaving sometime around the end of January. The entire unit was scheduled to be in CO and ready to train by Feb '09. This is taking place so we can conduct the training necessary to get ready for a deployment to Iraq by the end of '09.

That was the original plan, up till a week ago. Now we have been told that no one will be leaving Korea until March. From what I understand this is because the unit that will be moving in to Korea to replace us won't be here until then plus the South Korean government wouldn't let us leave until then. That means that the dates for everything else has been pushed back as well. Sometimes I just love the way the Army conducts business.
